Adelaide Civil Celebrant
Guiding you through
life’s most special moments
You may be currently thinking “Wow, she looks a lot like Emma Wiggle”.
I get that a lot!
But my manner is definitely to be a calming presence - you won’t find me singing “Hot Potato” in our meetings, that’s a promise.
I also hear a lot that I look very young to have a job with a lot of emotional responsibility.
In fact, I’m in my 30s (thanks Software Skincare) and have been on quite a journey to develop the distinguished skills of an orator and professional listener.
Two years into a nursing degree, I realised that my favourite part of the job was in fact sitting and chatting to my patients as they told me their life stories…
(not great for a profession that runs on a tight time schedule).
I gained some life skills working in an electorate office where I assisted people with issues like “my neighbour’s shrub is stealing my water” and “someone needs to save the city dwelling pigeons”.
It was the perfect job to get to know all cross sections of society, and help them with the issues they felt passionately about.
Hop, skip, and a jump a few years - I was given the opportunity to officiate services while working as a Funeral Arranger. I’d found the perfect way to combine the most satisfying aspects of my work: capturing peoples’ stories and reflecting them back to their nearest and dearest.
I completed my Cert IV in Celebrancy and became a full-time Celebrant, now able to include other aspects of life that shouldn’t pass us by without acknowledgement.
I now get to spend my days standing by people on some of their most memorable days. Whether it’s your happiest, most proud, or most challenging moments; I’m here to support you.
My approach is to never be the main focus. Although I am front-and-centre in a literal sense, what I want is to shine a light on the people or person we’re truly there for.
It’s my job to make sure it’s you or your loved one who is really shining on the day.
